Aircraft noise and cardiovascular disease

An article on aircraft noise, published by BBC News (online), refers to research conducted at King's College London and Imperial College which found that the risk of stroke and heart disease were increased in areas with high levels of aircraft noise.

The study, published in the British Medical Journal, investigated boroughs and districts of London near to Heathrow airport, measuring risk of hospital admissions for, and mortality from, stroke, coronary heart disease, and cardiovascular disease.
