French for Chinese Speakers Level 1, Part 1

The course is aimed at students who are Chinese Speakers with a general interest in French. No prior knowledge of French is required as the course is for complete beginners.

French for Medical and Humanitarian Professions Level 1, Part 2

The course is aimed at: students with an interest in French focusing on the medical field; students planning to work in international development and humanitarian settings; medical staff who want to work in a French speaking country; and NGO staff who want to join a humanitarian mission in a French speaking country. Ideally students should have completed 15 hours of tuition prior to joining Part 2 of the course.

French Level 1, Part 1

Build foundational French skills by learning the alphabet, days of the week, numbers, nationalities, and more. Practise how to do things like greet people and introduce yourself or others, share personal information and express yourself politely.

French Level 1, Part 1 (Evening 5 Week Intensive)

Speed up your French study with five weeks of intensive, three-hour evening lessons. At the end of the course, you’ll be able to greet people, talk about daily activities, find your way, tell the time and date, make simple purchases, order a meal, understand very simple oral and written texts and comprehend specific information on simple topics.

French Level 1, Part 2

Understand how to formulate questions with est-ce que and qu’est-ce que and use à and de prepositions before countries and places. Learn the present tense verbs venir, boire, vouloir, mettre, and prendre, and things like adjective agreements and quantities. Start working with the passé composé and imperfect past tenses.

French Level 1, Part 2 (Evening 5 Week Intensive)

Speed up your French study with five weeks of intensive, three-hour evening lessons. At the end of the course, you’ll be able to greet people, talk about daily activities, find your way, tell the time and date, make simple purchases, order a meal, understand very simple oral and written texts and comprehend specific information on simple topics.

French Level 1, Part 3

Move on to the present tense with pouvoir, devoir and reflexive verbs, and use the ‘il faut’ expression of obligation. Continue studying the past tense, and start learning the future tense. Practice how to apply for a job, talk about your hobbies, discuss your health, and much more.

French Level 2, Part 1 (Evening 5 Week Intensive)

Continue your French lessons with the perfect tense + agreement, the Negative form (ne…rien/personne/jamais/plus), and duration (pendant/il y a/depuis). Learn how to use the present tense (c’était/il y avait/il faisait), pronouns(y/en) and relative pronouns (qui/ que/où). Practise how to write a postcard, describe a place, express your feelings and beyond.

French Level 2, Part 2

Discover how to use the future tense, condition with si and use the pronoun on. Learn how to use the imperative to express obligation and prohibition, use the subjunctive + verb to express needs, and form adverbs in -ment. Practise functions like discussing the future and your intentions, outlining health conditions and understanding medical instructions, and expressing satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
