Active Recruitment

As part of a significant expansion of the Department of Chemistry, we are actively recruiting.

A focus of the department lies in realising the transformative power of chemistry at the interface of other disciplines, particularly biology and medicine. Chemical biology is a key strategic area in which we have notable expertise. We particularly encourage applications where core chemistry is being used to pioneer new directions in chemical biology, biomaterials, synthetic biology, nanomedicine and nanoscience, complementing existing strengths within the department and King’s. This list is not exhaustive and we welcome applications across chemistry that are imaginative and interdisciplinary.

The posts provide a unique and exciting opportunity to shape the future of chemistry at one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK. The King’s vision is to create a contemporary department, which enshrines the rigour of the subject but is renowned for ground-breaking interdisciplinary science. This ambition is being realised by considerable investment at King’s in science and technology.

New staff join King’s at an exciting time, and will play an important part in the strategic development of our contemporary vision for chemistry. The prime position of King’s in central London also benefits from the advances in science, technology and enterprise occurring across the capital. Notably, King’s is a primary partner with the Francis Crick Institute, providing the opportunity to make direct links with this world-leading biomedical research institute.

Early Career Fellows

As part of our recruitment strategy, we are placing particular focus on the support and recruitment of Early Career Fellows. In particular, we are looking for candidates whose research interests are aligned with the interdisciplinary vision of our department.
