Payment compliance and sanctions

Convera processes payments made through both the GlobalPay for Students (GPFS) platform and payments made via your Fee Statement available in the Student Records Portal.

Convera and its affiliates are committed to complying with all applicable economic and trade sanctions laws and regulations in every jurisdiction in which they operate.

Convera's sanctions compliance program incorporates policies, controls, systems, and procedures designed to ensure compliance with sanctions measures administered by, among others:

• The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
• The United Nations (UN)
• The European Union (EU)
• The United Kingdom's Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI)
• The Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI)

as well as any other applicable sanctions laws and regulations in the countries and territories where Convera conducts business.

Additional Information Requests

As part of its compliance obligations, Convera may request additional information regarding a payment. Any such request will be sent from an inquiry@cm.convera.com email address.

If you receive a request for information, please carefully verify the sender's email address and respond promptly. Failure to provide the requested information may result in delays, cancellation of the transaction, or the return of funds, requiring a replacement payment to be made.

Convera reserves the right to decline, reject, or return any transaction that is inconsistent with its sanctions compliance policies or risk appetite.

Where the payor, originating bank, region, or country is subject to sanctions or other restrictions, payments may not be accepted through Convera or directly by King's College London.

If you believe your payment may be affected by sanctions-related restrictions, you must first complete the University's compliance assessment form:

Payment Security

• The"Global Pay for Students" url you will see is https://students.convera.com/kingscollege#!/
• You may be approached via social media web sites or in person, offering you alternative methods of payment with incentives and discounts. GPfS is a safe and secure means of payment, and we require all payments to be made using this college approved route.
• Never make payment of your college fees using bank details provided to you in the text of an email or over the phone from anyone, as this may be a scam and you may lose your money. Always use the college approved route.
• Should you receive a request via email for more information about your payment, whilst taking care to cross check the email address, please ensure you respond to the email immediately as failure to do so may result in the payment being returned and you needing to make a replacement payment.

Visit the GlobalPay for Students platform to pay in RMB

1. Select China from the ‘Where is your bank located’ dropdown

2. Enter the GBP amount you wish to pay

3. You will then be presented with a list of payment options displayed with the cheapest at the top.

Please note that whilst bank transfer payments will always be the cheapest and cards will normally be more expensive, it is your choice which payment option you select to use from the platform.

4. Once you have selected your payment method you will need to enter your student information followed by the payer information (details of who is making the payment).

5. Once you have completed all fields you will then be provided with instructions on how to complete payment

6. Please note: you may be asked to provide/upload additional documentation including your National ID, proof of identity, proof of address and your university admission letter.

Please do not re-use an old payment reference number as this will result in your payment being rejected.

When paying by bank transfer, make sure you generate a new quote as you will need to use the corresponding unique one-time use number beginning with an 'E', as a payment reference. This quote and the guaranteed amount is only valid for 72 hours from the point the quote is generated.

GlobalPay for Students Price Promise

To get the benefits of this service it is important that you send your payment to the bank account details that are provided to you, in the currency stipulated on the payment Instructions. You can use your own bank to make this transfer. Make sure that your bank quotes the full reference number beginning with 'E' that you have been given in the PDF. This ensures your college fee is easily identifiable by King’s College London and that the application of the payment to your student account does not incur any delay.

When you visit Global Pay for Students, select the “United Kingdom” option as the country 'where your bank is located', and then selecting the first option on the list; “bank transfer”, you will be able to obtain a quote containing the full IBAN details necessary for you to pay your fees.

It is important to note that in doing this, you will need to cover any bank transfer fees that may be charged as a result of the transfer. These same charges would still be incurred should you have made a transfer directly to King’s College bank account.
