Biography
Dr Catherine Tilley is a Lecturer in Business Ethics & Sustainability and Impact Director, Institute for Sustainable Business. Her research examines two phenomena: first, the ways in which people in companies incorporate social and environmental sustainability into their decision-making; and second the ways in which complex socio-technical systems (such as transport networks) adapt to climate pressures.
Catherine teaches Business Ethics & Sustainability on all Undergraduate programmes, as well as teaching Leadership on the International Management MSc and decision-making on Executive Education programmes.
Her areas of expertise include:
- decision-making in businesses;
- social and environmental sustainability in businesses;
- change in complex systems
Catherine's work has been published in the International Journal of Operations and Production Management. She is a Fellow of the HEA, and a Fellow in Construction Engineering Management at the University of Cambridge and has been a Visiting Scholar at Stirling University and an Ivey Sustainability Academy Fellow.
Prior to working at King's, Catherine spent over 20 years in management consultancy, mostly at McKinsey & Company. She has an MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge, and an MBA from Manchester University.
Catherine is the Responsible Business Lead for King's Business School, and represents the Business School on the King's Service Committee.
