NNRU Visiting Appointments

Sally Brearley

Visiting Senior Research Fellow in Patient and Public Involvement.

Sally is Chair of Health Link, a social enterprise that seeks to strengthen public engagement with health in innovative ways. 

Sally is Chair of the Nursing and Care Quality Forum, made up of nurses, patients and carers, tasked with ensuring best practice is spread and adopted by NHS organisations.

  

Professor Peter Griffiths

Peter Griffiths (Visiting Professor) holds the chair of Health Services Research at the University of Southampton. Peter's research focuses on skill mix, substitution and quality measurement for workforce effectiveness. He was previously Director of the NNRU from 2006 to 2010.          

Dr Donna Havens

Dr. Donna Sullivan Havens (Visiting Professor) is a tenured professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she mentors graduate students studying health care systems and outcomes. Her career includes a rich blend of roles in nursing practice, administration, academe, and research. Her work defines and translates evidence-based practice for executive nurse leaders and managers.

Dr Sarah Robinson

With over 30 years' experience in Nursing Research, and recently retired from the NNRU, Sarah Robinson's work has resulted in a substantial volume of publications, including career development research and co-editing a series of books on midwifery research. Sarah is continuing to support research in the Unit by completing the Mentorship project, and by writing for and editing a collected edition of the Policy + publications.

Professor Pamela Smith

Professor Pamela Smith (Visiting Professor) is Professor of Nurse Education, GNC Endowed Chair and Director of the Centre for Research in Nursing and Midwifery Education, European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Surrey. Professor Smith’s work shares much in common with the NNRU's work, particularly in the area of international migration.
