Research
I am interested in issues of equality and diversity in UK museums and science centres, in formal and informal education, and in social and cultural policies. Other research interests include current changes in museums as organizational and professional settings (research conducted in the context of an ESRC-funded project - RES-061-25-0039), museum ethics, philosophy of science, science in society, and science and democracy

Teaching
I am Programme Director and Admissions Tutor for MA Education in Arts & Cultural Settings
In addition to the supervision of doctoral and MA/MSc students, I am course organiser for Foundations of Professionalism, part of the Doctorate in Education and Professional Studies (EdD/DrPS), and I teach sociology of education and/or qualitative research methodology in the context of the Modular Masters’ programme, the Foundation Degree in Education Studies, the EdD/DrPS, the MSc in Health Promotion, the MSc in Health & Society and the MPhil/PhD research training programme.
