About me

After a period teaching in higher education in France and China, and then working in Industrial Language Training and Primary ESOL in the UK, I became the Director of the English Language and Study Skills unit at Queen Mary University, London, and then English Language Projects Manager for the British Council in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In the mid and late 1990s and early 2000s I lived in Poland and Sri Lanka, working as a consultant in project management and evaluation, mainly in relation to English language projects, and also completed my PhD at Lancaster University (using corpus linguistics and ethnography to investigate the textual practices of organisations submitting proposals to the European Union)

I currently teach at King's College London on a visiting basis, but also maintain my practice in project evaluation and in documentary photography. My personal website is
