Memorial Services and Events
Memorial services and events provide us with an opportunity to honour and celebrate the life of a member of King's.
The Chaplaincy is available to provide pastoral support within King's upon the death of a member of our community, and welcomes the opportunity to be involved with and/or support any memorial service or event that takes place anywhere on campus - it doesn't necessarily need to take place in one of our campus Chapels or be a religious event (e.g. the unveiling of a memorial bench, or gathering for reflection and remembering in a classroom or lecture theatre or outside on campus grounds).
Death, Dying and Bereavement
Most of us, at some stage in our lives, lose someone we love. The pain of our loss can leave us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain.
The Chaplaincy is available to any student or staff member who is saying goodbye to a loved one, mourning their death, or has questions about their mortality. We can also help if you have any practical questions about death, such as if you are organizing a funeral or would like to hold a memorial service or event.
If this would be helpful to you, please email us, or drop into one of our Chaplaincies to speak to a Chaplain in person.
