Our connections

The Cicely Saunders Institute of Of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation was established when the Cicely Saunders International Charity partnered with King's College London in 2010. We work alongside Cicely Saunders International using a collaborative approach that enhances the significance and reach of our work and enables us to translate our research into education and care quickly. Our multi-talented staff benefit from over 100 active partnerships with healthcare organisations, universities, charities, and governments worldwide. We also improve patient outcomes by fostering valuable working relationships with patients and the public.

We are proud to have been a World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation since 2008, developing and strengthening capacity across Europe, Africa, Australasia and the Americas. We lead palliative care groups beside NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South London and King's Health Partners, including King's College Hospital, Guy's & St Thomas' and South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts. The rehabilitation team works with the London North West University Heathcare NHS Trust, Regional Hyper-acute Rehabilitation Unit to look after patients with complex disabilities from severe brain injury or other neurological conditions.
