Start-ups and small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) are BIG business. They account for three fifths of employment in the UK and around 99.9% of the UK’s business population (Federation of Small Businesses).
Working in a start-up or small team can give you valuable practical skills and knowledge in a range of areas, from business planning and sustainability, to sales and digital marketing.
Each year we offer two paid opportunities to current King’s students.
Associates
Work for the EI team alongside your studies - share your ideas and support our work!
Our Associate positions are designed to help you develop entrepreneurial skills by working on a range of assignments with different members of the EI team to support the delivery of our programmes and events.
- Flexible, part-time paid roles available on a one-year contract.
- Work on a variety of assignments including event support, research and administration tasks, social media marketing and more across a range of roles.
- Paid above London Living Wage (£14.88 per hour).
- You must be a returning student.
The thing I’ve liked most is the range of different activities I’ve undertaken, including attending focus groups, coming up with ideas and talking to different students. I’ve never encountered such an emphasis on personal development in any of my previous jobs.

Entrepreneurial Summer Internships
Gain first-hand experience in a start-up by working with a venture started by a King's student or alumni!
- 9-week internship available over the summer.
- Open to current King's students from a widening participation background.
- Roles include marketing, business development, product engineering and more.
- Paid above London Living Wage (£14.88 per/hour).
