The Children's Research Programme at the Unit is led by Reader in Social Care at King's, Mary Baginsky. In addition to completed COVID-related work, she has been working with Carl Purcell on school involvement in child protection, the subject of a 2022 book. They are currently co-investigators on a Cardiff-led examination of regulation and registration. Two evaluations have been conducted for What Works for Children's Social Care. Earlier, the Unit conducted evaluations of Signs of Safety. A new leadership programme in children's social work was evaluated by Jo Moriarty, Nicole Steils and colleagues.
