Nightingale-Saunders Clinical Trials & Epidemiology Unit

The Nightingale-Saunders Clinical Trials and Epidemiology Unit (NSU) is a specialist section of the King's Clinical Trials Unit (KCTU) and based in the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care. We provide trials expertise for researchers focusing on the complex populations and interventions of palliative care and nursing.

We collaborate with both internal and external researchers to support submissions to a range of funders for late phase research, such as the following National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) funding streams: Health Technology Assessment (HTA); Programme Grants for Applied Research (PGfAR); Health Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR); and Artificial Intelligence (AI). As well as UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) programmes and charitable organisations.

We also support submissions for early phase research programmes such as the NIHR and Medical Research Council (MRC) Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation Programme (EME); MRC Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme (DPFS); and Experimental Medicine (EM) grants.
