King's Enterprise Award, Enter from September 2016 - January 2017

An award given for activities undertaken in addition to your formal studies. It takes you on an entrepreneurial journey and aims to introduce you to start-ups and the concept of entrepreneurship, provide a platform for knowledge exchange, provide an understanding of finance and investment, and to instil key capabilities such as networking, communication, teamwork and leadership.

KEATS virtual learning environment

In partnership with Enterprise Nation, our Entrepreneurship library supports all types of entrepreneurial learning activities. We provide expert advice, insight and guidance to those who wish to start and scale their own ventures, as well as those who wish to develop as employees or employers in their chosen careers. 

The platform provides you with a global resource bank of articles, videos, blogs, presentations and much more. It is also an essential tool for individuals taking part in the King's Enterprise Award.

Entrepreneurship Support Fund

The Entrepreneurship Support Fund gives societies at King’s up-to £2,000 grant funding for initiatives that introduce entrepreneurship to King’s students. They can also apply for activities that inspire students to develop transferable skills and have entrepreneurial experiences which enhance future careers.

These activities teach you how to use entrepreneurial skills in any profession, much like Shakespeare, Dame Jessica Ennis Hill and Wolfgang Mozart!

Student Advisory Board

Our Student Advisory Board is a group of society Presidents, VPs and committee members who shape the programmes run by the Entrepreneurship Institute. As a student-led Institute we co-create our activities with our community; we focus on diversity, inclusivity & being a collective. Through this board we aim to identify effective ways of introducing entrepreneurship to people of all backgrounds, up-skilling our students and enhancing their experiences, contributing to their future success.

King's Venture Accelerator 2016-17

TheKing’s Venture Accelerator is a year-long programme which aims to support 20 ventures, at any stage of development, to reach their potential. The programme runs from 3rd October 2016 until 29th September 2017, and is open to King's students, staff and alumni (of up to 7 years).
Successful ventures will receive:

  • an estimated £30,000 worth of support (workshops; guidance from top-class mentors, corporate partners/experts; personal well-being coaching; and business resources),
  • expertise from organisations including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and Founders Factory, 
  • access to a dedicated work space in the prestigious Bush House Building, and
  • in addition to all of this, Entrepreneurship@King’s aims to find funding to you start up and grow.

Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa, apply for endorsement

 What is the Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa? 

The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa is an immigration category to allow graduates with world-class innovative ideas or entrepreneurial skills, to extend their stay in the UK after graduation to establish and develop one or more businesses in the UK under the supervision of their academic institution. The Entrepreneurship Institute can sponsor up to 20 visas per year, including those renewing from the year before.

Who can apply? 
You must be a non-European taught final year student or graduate to be eligible to apply for the Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa. www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.

When are the applications open?
There are three windows per year.
