Cancer Imaging

Innovation through imaging technology to improve and personalize the patient journey.

Our research is dedicated to improving the effectiveness and reducing side effects of cancer treatment through imaging technology. A highly collaborative department, we work closely with national and international institutions, industry leaders and clinical academics to personalize cancer treatment for each patient.

Why Study at the Department of Cancer Imaging

  • Our clinical academics are world-leaders who serve on national and international societies and committees, and have authored best practices around the world such as evidence-based guidelines in PET tumour and non-tumour imaging, paediatric PET imaging, lymphoma and myeloma
  • Public patient engagement allows for direct patient feedback to incorporate into research
  • Our research spans preclinical development to multicentre clinical trials
  • State-of-the-art imaging facilities
  • Close collaboration and support from industry leaders

Research Specialisms

  • Biomarker development, methodology, treatment planning
  • Disease phenotyping and response prediction, evaluation and prognosis
  • Development and optimisation of hybrid imaging
  • Image analysis, processing & optimisation, radiomics and artificial intelligence
  • Radiotherapy imaging
  • Multicentre clinical trials including programmes for clinical pathway development and optimisation

Imaging plays such an important role in patient management, from early diagnosis to surveillance. We aim to make a real difference to patients through our research.
