Building sustainability into our actions and operations

King's operations and activities can have a significant impact on local and global environments. We aim to minimise their negative effects, while strengthening our positive impact through our research, teaching, actions and operations.

Our Climate & Sustainability Action Plan sets out 13 key impact areas to guide the university’s approach to sustainability and climate change, informed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Action Plan is underpinned by operational policies, systems and targets governed through our Environmental Sustainability Policy. We report progress towards these targets annually, demonstrating the decisive action we are taking to reduce the negative impacts of our operations.

As a signatory to the global Race to Zero for Universities and Colleges, we will continue to make a difference through our supply chain and investments, by engaging our community in behaviour change and through the work we collectively do to achieve our sustainability targets.
