King’s Legal Clinic domestic abuse injunction form-filling service
We offer a free, confidential form-filling service for individuals wishing to apply for a non-molestation and/or occupation order. These court orders are protective orders to stop and prevent domestic abuse. They are sometimes called ‘injunctions’. Please visit the government website for more information on non-molestation and occupation orders.
What type of service is offered by the Clinic?
Online applications for non-molestation and/or occupation orders are submitted via the CourtNav online portal. Our service provides form-filling assistance for people who wish to apply online for a non-molestation and/or occupation order using the CourtNav portal. CourtNav is managed by the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ) Citizens Advice and FLOWs (Finding Legal Options for Women Survivors).
If you want to use the CourtNav portal but don’t know where to begin or how to explain/document what has happened to you, then we can help.
We offer a 2-hour appointment. You can choose whether this is in-person at King’s Legal Clinic, online via Microsoft Teams, or by phone.
During your appointment two or three of our trained student advisors will ask you questions. They will then use your answers to complete the online CourtNav application form. The student advisors will either complete the form for you during the appointment or within 2 working days. Completed forms will be checked by our supervising solicitor with expertise in family law. You will then be invited to read through and submit the form. The submitted application will then be sent to a lawyer or other advisor, who will recommend the best course of action for you. You can find more information on the CourtNav online application process, on the apply for an injunction section of their website.
This is a form-filling service only. If you need legal advice we will signpost you to our family law clinic, RCJ Citizens Advice or another suitable service. Our Student Advisors cannot represent you in court, contact third parties on your behalf or instruct barristers for you.
When is the Clinic available for appointments?
We offer form-filling appointments in term-time (October-December, January-April). Appointments are usually held on a Thursday afternoon, but we do offer some flexibility if necessary.
