Pre-clinical imaging

We use pre-clinical models to understand some of the most challenging diseases and disorders affecting people. We combine non-invasive methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography scans, with tissue and behavioural analysis to gain insights into what is happening in the brain.

Understanding the effects of treatments is key to improving outcomes, so we work to identify pioneering ways to translate discoveries in the laboratory into new treatments for patients. Our state-of-the-art equipment and techniques help to solve complex problems in translational research and biomarker development.

Find out more about our facilities and opportunities for future pre-clinical collaborations.

Our key questions:

  • What are the underlying causes of human neurological and psychiatric conditions?
  • How do they respond to potential treatments?
  • What are the markers of disease progression?
