Policy+ is a publication from the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery which aims to deliver brief overviews of evidence related to current policies affecting the nursing workforce in England, the wider United Kingdom and the rest of the world. Policy+ has been providing succinct evidence briefings to inform policy and practice since 2007.

Issue 45

What difference does it make if nurses or doctors provide diabetes care and treatment to patients?

Practice+ is produced by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery to help inform, challenge and advance practice. Each edition focuses on a particular area of Faculty research and how the lessons learnt can be used to positively impact on service provision and patient outcomes.

The first edition focused on the difficult issue of talking to children and young people about the risk implications surrounding hereditary breast cancer and the often challenging dilemmas faced by parents who carry the BRCA gene.
