This module will enable the students to understand demographic and ageing issues from a global perspective. It will enable students to understand a range of demographic processes across the world and the complex and dynamic implications for both individuals and societies. The module will develop students’ understanding, through examples from countries outside of Europe and the United States The module will cover social policy in ageing societies, migration, family care and intergenerational relationships and the association between ageing and health.
One weekly two-hour class, split into lecture and seminar/discussion.
