Pre-arrival Support

You cannot apply for housing in King's Residences until you have received, and accepted, an offer to study at King's.

For more information please see the King's Residences webpages

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE HOUSING AND YOU MAY NEED TO LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS OUTSIDE OF KING'S RESIDENCES.

Spaces in King's Residences are limited, so you may need to consider alternative options such as:

Homestay accommodation is when you stay in the home of a British family. They are particularly suitable for those students wishing to develop their spoken English and those who want to learn more about British culture. There are different homestay options available to choose from: shared or single rooms, bed and breakfast or self-catering, and a range of locations across London. When you make a booking the agent will match you to a suitable family depending on your preferences. For further information, have a look at London HomestaysBritannia Student ServicesHFS LondonHosts International, or Perfect Host Homestay.

There are many London expats groups on Facebook which can be a good source of temporary or short-term accommodation. We advise only looking in Private groups (you'll have to request to join), as those groups will be more likely to identify and remove scams.

If renting privately, make sure you read 'What accommodation scams are there, and how can I avoid them?'

If you cannot view the property yourself before booking a private accommodation, try to find someone else in London (friend of a friend, current study abroad student from your home university, etc.) who can check it for you before handing over any money.

You should check out our Student Experience and Advice for Offer Holders pages.

The Global Mobility Office sends regular 'Countdown to King's' newsletters to support you prior to arriving at King's College London. These newsletters provide an opportunity to find out more about your upcoming semester or year abroad at King's.

If ever in doubt, send us an email to  studyabroad@kcl.ac.uk and we'll be happy to guide or or certainly point you in the right direction!

Before your arrival, make sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with what's going on, enter some of our competitions and to meet some of your peers!
