Individual instrumental or vocal lessons with a teacher from the Royal Academy of Music, culminating in a public performance of a well-balanced programme not exceeding 20 minutes. Students are expected to introduce their performance briefly and to bring copies of the scores for the examiners. Credit will be given for imaginative programming.
Practical recital examination (20 minutes) in May/June exam period (67%); continuing assessment by RAM instrumental or vocal teacher (33%)
The module will be taught via individual instrumental or vocal tuition provided by the Royal Academy of Music, supported by occasional performance workshops at King’s. Students are entitled to 15 hours per year with a RAM Professor or advanced postgraduate teacher. Attendance at lessons is compulsory and teachers’ continuing assessments reflect progress made.
