Module description

This course will bridge the gap between the economic conceptualization of the firm and practical cases studies of strategic challenges faced by modern corporations. We will explore how economic theory explain the firm’s interaction with its environment and more generally corporate decision-making. It will provide students with an exhaustive understanding of the modern economic concepts that underpin organizational design and strategy.

Aims & Objectives:

- To examine business and corporate strategy using contemporary theories of the firm in the field of economics, and the practical insights they provide to manage modern corporations.

- To present the main economic rationales for typical firm’s strategic choices.

- To explore current challenges faced by firms with an economic theory lens.
