Module description

An introduction to the study of religion in the ancient Mediterranean world (c.750BCE-250CE). What is religion, and where might it be found? What were the phenomena of antiquity that may be classified as ‘religious’?  This module takes themes from cult and ritual to divination and magic, exploring the beliefs and practices of the peoples of Greece, Rome and the Levant.
