Supervision

What we offer

We are able to provide CBT supervision in person or by Skype to individuals and groups. All of our therapists are accredited CBT therapists with the BABCP.  Many are also formally accredited supervisors. We are experienced at providing CBT supervision to therapists across the levels of care, including in IAPT services, Secondary Care Psychological Therapy Services, and Community Mental Health Teams.  In 2013-2014 we provided supervision to over 150 therapists.

In order to arrange supervision for individuals or teams please contact Blake Stobie.  Payment will be made through the SLAM Finance Department.  If we travel to you to provide supervision there will be travel time costed into the overall package. Typically supervision sessions are arranged for periods of 4 to 6 months at a time, but bespoke options can be arranged.

Placements

What we offer

We offer placements and supervision to both SLaM staff and external clinicians.   All SLaM NHS supervision and placements are organised through existing relationships with IAPT, IPTT and MAP team services.  We cannot organise MAP CAG placements or supervision outside of this.  We can also offer therapists outside SLAM fixed-term honorary training posts as part of their Continued Professional Development.  If you are interested in such an honorary attachment at CADAT please email Blake Stobie.

What to expect

Typically CPD placements at CADAT are for one to five days per week for 6 to 9 months.  During this time therapists will have access to CADAT training materials, including DVDs of workshops and DVDs of actual therapy which we have permission to use for training purposes. Therapists will be expected to see cases under supervision. Often such placements focus on a single anxiety disorder.

International Placements/Internships

We are able to offer placements for international clinicians.  We offer these in association with our partners Implemental.  If you are interested in a placement at CADAT, please contact Blake Stobie.

Workshops

We can provide workshops on a range of topics relating to anxiety disorders and CBT more generally.  These cost £1200 per day plus travel, accommodation and expenses if needed.  Please contact Blake Stobie for more information.
