Why learn Arabic at King’s Language Centre?
All Arabic courses at King’s are taught by fluent speakers with their own personal experience of the language, hailing from a range of countries in the Arab world. They have been trained to teach Modern Standard Arabic, which is used in books, newspapers, television and radio, and in conversations between educated Arabs from different countries.
You can begin learning Arabic by choosing whether to study a more traditional approach that incorporates reading and writing or focus on spoken Arabic. The spoken Arabic courses will help you to connect Modern Standard Arabic with dialects and develop your speaking skills for oral communication.
It’s possible to reach B1/B2 proficiency in Arabic with our Level 4 classes. At this stage, you’ll be able to understand authentic text passages, discuss a range of subjects with good pronunciation and intonation, and write more complex texts.
If you’ve learnt Arabic before, you can join the level that best matches your experience. Use the tabs below to choose between beginner and intermediate Arabic classes, or read our advice on what level you should study if you’re unsure.

Student Testimonial
"The teacher is extremely friendly and engaged, especially given how late in the day the course is. Her energy encourages me to engage and ask questions without fear, helping me learn and retain the information".
"The teacher’s consideration for all of her students' needs leaves no one behind and ensures that everyone is involved and supported. She cares deeply for her students, and this is reflected in her passion within the classroom, which makes learning so much more enjoyable and easier".
"Having done many online language lessons, I can say my teacher’s way of teaching and ensuring interaction really are effective teaching methods. It's been the best online teaching I've had; I really like how she repeats phrases and instructions in amongst the lesson plan so words and conjugations become familiar. She is really good at making it fun and not scary to interact; she encourages each student to interact equally and allows for a safe learning environment. Having ADHD, I really like how the lesson is broken up into different parts to keep attention high and interesting!"
"Our teacher is incredible - she is so good with her metaphors and prioritising understanding of how the language fits together. It really allows you to feel comfortable practising speaking and throwing in the lovely 'spices' of the most frequently used Arabic terms".
