Wellcome Trust PhD Student Cohort 2017

I studied biological sciences for my undergraduate degree at Florence University before starting a MRes in Biosystematics at Imperial College London. During that Masters course, run jointly with the Natural History Museum, I became interested in developmental and regenerative processes in non-model vertebrates. The Wellcome Trust ‘Cell Therapies and Regenerative Medicine’ Four-Year PhD Programme represents a great opportunity to further my interests while specializing in the fields of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. I am currently starting a rotation project to develop new technology for artificial visceral control of cardiac function.  I then anticipate joining an imaging/cell tracing group and working on a project investigating tooth regeneration in snakes.
