Work/Place: London returning

The pandemic has had significant impacts on the economies of cities, as well as their social and spatial organisation – in particular, their downtowns or central business districts. A key aspect of this has been the move toward hybrid working or working from home, with some reports suggesting that up to half of all employees in the UK are resistant to a full-time return to the workplace.

The Work/Place: London returning project, led jointly by the Policy Institute at King’s and the King’s Business School, is bringing together London-based employers and policy stakeholders to understand how Covid has altered the way Londoners now work and what the future of employment in the city will look like.

Through a co-productive approach using quantitative and qualitative research methods, the project will identify lessons not just for London, but for other international cities and the rest of the UK too. Read the latest research, analysis and comment from the project below.
