Allocations: frequently asked questions

Allocation

Where can I find your Accommodation Policy?

Please click here.

How are rooms allocated?

Allocations are done based on the room type and residences request that you indicated on your application. The requests you make are EQUALLY ranked, cannot be distinguished in order of highest to lowest priority and are not guaranteed.

Will I definitely get the room type I selected in my application?

We endeavour to allocate applicants to their stated room type preference, however sometimes this is not possible due to availability. If we are unable to allocate you in your preferred room type, we will do our best to find a close match.

Is single gender accommodation available?

Yes, however they are very limited and are allocated on a first come, first serve basis primarily to those who require single gender flats for cultural and religious reasons.

To be considered for a single gender flat, please indicate this preference on your accommodation application form.

When will I find out my room number?

You will find out your room number when you check-in to the residence.

Can I swap my room?

Students will be able to swap their rooms from October 2019.
