Module description

Democracy, Empire and War: Greek History & Society 446-338 BCE

This module will take you through the history of the Greek world during one of its most significant periods. It will examine the relationships between Greek cities, and in particular the Peloponnesian War between Athens and its allies, and Sparta and its allies. It will also look at the importance of the Persian empire in this period, and examine social issues including democracy, slavery and gender roles and relations.

Coursework

1 x 750 word commentary (30%) and 1 x 2,000 word essay (70%)
