Module description

Aims and Learning Outcomes

This module delivers research-led education in Artificial Intelligence Planning and Modelling. It looks at algorithms for solving planning problems, the theory behind planning, including modelling paradigms, and how these can be used in applications.

On successful completion of this module, students will:

Be able to:

  • Understand a range of topics in classical, temporal and numeric planning
  • Work with planning modelling languages such as PDDL
  • Understand how planning can be used in applications

Syllabus

Topics will be selected from:

  • Algorithms for solving classical planning problems
  • Relaxation heuristics
  • Temporal planning
  • Discrete numeric planning
  • Planning in hybrid domains
  • Plan execution and applications of planning
