Module description

The module will provide the students with an understanding of the basic human anatomy and physiology. The students will learn the coupling of structure with function through a series of lectures, tutorials and practicals. The use of computer-assisted learning will enable the students to augment their learning. There will be 2 physiology lab sessions. Also, there will be 2 sessions in the dissection room to facilitate learning about the skeleton and the cardiovascular system.

30% Coursework

Learning outcomes

On completion of the module students should be able:

  • To demonstrate broad understanding of the human physiology with particular focus on the musculoskeletal, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems.
  • To identify principles and concepts underlying Human Anatomy and Physiology.
  • To demonstrate awareness of systems physiology with particular focus on muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, and their integrated function.
  • To understand the human tissue act.
