Katie East

Katie is a second year PhD student studying under the supervision of Professor Ann McNeill and Dr Sara Hitchman. Her PhD focuses on developing and testing measures of social norms towards smoking.

Katie has a wide range of interests relating to nicotine and tobacco, and addiction and substance use more broadly. Her PhD primarily involves secondary data analysis of national and international surveys.

Prior to starting her PhD, Katie worked as a Research Worker on the development of tools to measure norms towards ordinary cigarettes and nicotine use. Before this, Katie completed her MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London, and her BSc in Experimental Psychology at The University of Bristol.
