Psychosis Studies Meetings
The Psychosis Studies Meetings are organised by the Department of Psychosis Studies and are part of the IoPPN’s weekly academic programme for all research and academic staff. They are a forum for staff and students to provide updates on their research.
The Journal Club is organised by the Department of Psychosis Studies and is part of the IoPPN’s weekly academic programme for all IoPPN research and academic staff, and SLaM staff.
It is a learning opportunity for junior psychiatrists for the critical appraisal part of their professional exams, and gives trainees an opportunity to study and present academic work. It is also an opportunity for everyone else to hear experts critically appraising research, in an informal setting, where no question is off-limits.
Each week there is a short presentation on an academic paper of wide interest. This is followed by an informal discussion, led by invited experts in the field, where the strengths, weaknesses and context of the work are explored.
The Grand Round is organised by the Department of Psychosis Studies and is part of the IoPPN’s weekly academic programme for all current members of IoPPN and SLaM staff, and students (including medical students). It consists of presenting the medical problems and treatment of a particular patient.
Important note: We are very grateful to the patients who consent to be presented and discussed at the Grand Round. As a confidential and privileged clinical forum, only current members of IoPPN and SLaM staff, and students, including medical students, are permitted to attend. We would be grateful if you would bring a valid King’s, IoPPN, or SLAM ID badge.
