With world-class research comes transformational impact on patients, their families and the healthcare professionals that care for them. That’s why our research shapes everything that we do here in the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care.

What we research
Our areas of research are shaped by working with people from the local and global communities, as well as healthcare providers and policy makers, to ensure that they have far-reaching impact
We are also home to the Better Health & Care Hub and the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Palliative and End of Life Care.
Our research is grouped into four main divisions:
Care for long term conditions
Our research into care for long term conditions explores the mind and body responses and impacts to living with long-standing health conditions. We lead research into clinical diabetes, mental health nursing, bladder and bowel conditions, long-term conditions in older people and more.
