Moving out

Moving out of residences

Moving out can be a stressful time. The high of finishing exams is over and you're ready for the summer break to start. However, there are a few key things that need to be done before you head off. We've collaborated with donation services to ensure that anything you don't need is disposed of in a sustainable way. The companies we use provide services that divert redundant furniture, fittings and equipment away from landfill and put them back to good use.

Please remember that the payment you made upon booking your room, if applicable, was a pre-payment of rent that was deducted from the first instalment of accommodation fees in October. This was not a refundable security deposit.

Packing

We work with a number of suppliers who provide packing boxes and materials. Please visit the following sites for more information: ArgosStaplesPackaging2BuyPackingBoxes.

Unfortunately due to space restrictions in our residences, we are not able to store any items for residents, but you can find plenty of companies in London that provide this service. Here are a few examples: LOVESPACEBig Yellow Self StorageShurgardHenfield Self Storage.

If you contact any of these companies, please ensure they fully meet your needs before making a booking with them. Once all details have been agreed with your chosen removal service, please remember to notify you residence.

Whilst you were living in residences your personal contents were covered by Endsleigh, the No.1 student insurance provider. Now that you are moving out of residences your cover will end with your contract. Endsleigh is offering all former residents with a great deal on personal contents insurance starting from as little as £1.93 per month.

Checking out

Please also ensure you report any repairs required prior to checking out. If you room has been found to have been damaged, you will be charged based on the identified rates.

All residents are required to check out by 10:00am on the day of their contract end date. Residents at our Great Dover Street, Stamford Street and Wolfson House residences are able to collect their express check out envelope from reception. All residents are required to check out with reception to avoid any excess removal fees beyond your contract date.
