International

The 21st‑century world demands lawyers who can move confidently across borders, cultures and legal systems.

The Dickson Poon School of Law trains students to operate in this global environment by offering:

International study opportunities

  • Undergraduate programmes that take students abroad and often lead to an additional qualification from a partner university.
  • A route for King’s LLB students to join the European Law School, enabling them to complete two postgraduate degrees at two leading European universities.
  • An internationally focused Master of Laws (LLM) that builds advanced problem‑solving skills for work in transnational contexts.
  • Expedited access to further graduate study at partner universities for LLM graduates.
  • A dual LLM in Law, Innovation & Technology with Bocconi University, awarding degrees from both universities.

Global collaboration through our networks and partnerships

  • The Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS), of which The Dickson Poon School of Law is a founding member. Led by Georgetown University, this consortium brings together faculty, students and practitioners from diverse legal cultures to teach and study international, transnational and comparative law. Based in Bush House on the King's Strand Campus, CTLS forms a core part of the King’s LLB Law with Transnational Legal Studies.
  • The European Law School Network, co‑founded by the Law School to develop the European Lawyer Programme.
  • The Law Schools Global League (LSGL), a group of 32 leading law schools from 24 countries, collaborating to advance debate and strengthen cooperation in both legal education and research on the globalisation of law.
  • Participation in the PPLE+ Global Alliance, a network of universities committed to interdisciplinary education across Philosophy, Politics, Law, Economics, Public Policy and related fields.

As an international student from Zimbabwe, studying Law at King’s has been both exciting and deeply enriching. I have really enjoyed being part of a Law School that encourages students to think critically, engage with different perspectives and connect legal ideas to the wider world. My advice to other international applicants would be to embrace the experience fully, ask questions, get involved beyond your classes and remember that your background brings a valuable perspective to the King’s community.

Jade, LLB
