Advice for Returning Students

Due to unprecedented demand from first year students who are guaranteed accommodation, we advise returning students to consider making alterative arrangements for accommodation. Here are some resources below to help you with your search.

Where to look for somewhere to live

When searching for accommodation, we would advise sticking to the University of London property database or letting agents who are registered with a professional body. You may also want to read our guide to accommodation scams if you are looking for accommodation, so that you can take reasonable steps to check the letting is genuine.

Many students also use Spareroom StudentsRightmove Student and Zoopla to find  accommodation in the private sector.

Preferred Partners

You may wish to check with our preferred partners, Unite and Scape, who currently have availability to book direct with them.

Need further advice or support?

Take a look at our housing advice pages for more information and things to think about when finding private accommodation. You can also read the University of London Housing Advice.

Remember, if you need any support or advice, you can call the King’s Student Advice Line and select the housing option to speak to one of our advisers, or alternatively you can submit an online housing advice enquiry here.

Students Under-18

If you will be under-18 at the time of booking, but over 18 at the start of your contract, we will require details of your parent / guardian / responsible adult as a co-signatory when your Licence Agreement (contract for your room) is generated.

King’s Residences also accepts bookings from students whose 18th birthday falls after the start of their contract. The properties available for students under the age of 18 at the point of move-in are Great Dover Street Apartments and Stamford Street Apartments. These Residences are owned and managed directly by King’s College London. As you will not yet have reached 18 years of age when your Licence Agreement (contract for your room) will be generated, we will require details of your parent / guardian / responsible adult as a co-signatory.

Places in Halls are offered on the understanding that students are self-sufficient and capable of living independently, away from home and looking after themselves in all practical matters.
