Spotlight on Inclusion Breakfasts

An new adaptation of our Careers Cafés, these events replace some of our Networking Nights, providing employers across a range of sectors with the ability to highlight positive initiatives to enhancing access and inclusion in their organisations for under-represented and diverse groups.

These virtual events take place on Wednesdays throughout autumn term for an hour, where we enourage participants to break from their studies, grab a coffee and engage in informal discussion with recruiters, alumni and organisation representatives to highlight and discuss positive initiatives designed to enhance access to the workplace for under-represented and diverse groups.

Each event places the spotlight on a different industry sector, aligned with our wider Focused Festivals which will run throughout the 2020-21 academic year.

We anticipate holding further events in spring 2021 with a spotlight upon sectors including advertising & marketing, fast-moving consumer goods and retail subject to feedback on our pilot series across autumn 2020.

Careers Cafés enable your organisation to host informal events enhancing your engagement with students in small groups to equip them to action their career journey.

We're hopeful we can provide employers with the ability to conduct on campus Careers Cafes once again from early January 2021, subject to government guidance and in line with wider university policy.

Our private spaces located in high footfall areas on our Guy's, Strand or Waterloo Campuses are available as an alternative to a formal presentation and you can choose how you wish to utilise these.

Previous employers have conducted CV clinics, informal interviews or small information sessions. You can focus engagement with particular groups of students by course, nationality, gender or other characteristics. Depending on your requirements and planned content, sessions can be delivered on either a pre-booked or drop-in basis.

You are welcome to bring single pull up banners and walk around campus to distribute fliers or simply to make students aware of your presence on campus, directing them to you Careers Café, where you can sit in comfort and enjoy a real conversation with the students over coffee and croissants.

Our packages include use of the room for up to 2.5 hours and catering (tea, coffee, juice and pastries) but we can also provide other options through King's Food for an additional cost.

Guaranteed until 22 February 2021
