Industry-led skills workshops offer an opportunity to take an active role in developing and upskilling our students, focussing on the skills required to succeed and grow during the application, recruitment and on-boarding process.
We regularly adapt our offer to reflect those skills our employers tell us King's students are requiring further development as well as reflecting areas identified by the Institute of Student Employers (ISE). Topics include:
- Design thinking and problem solving
- Networking and building relationships
- Communication and negotiation
- Interview technique
- Managing conflict
- Advancing your leadership
- Project management
- Presenting and pitching
- Professionalism in the workplace
- Being entrepreneurial
We welcome interest from employers keen to upskill our students on the above topics - or you could opt to host an employer masterclass covering your own ideas to assist student commercial awareness and confidence.
In registering for one of our workshops, you agree to share any slides with us in advance of the workshop so our team can review these.
Navigating the assessment process is one of the most critical elements of any career journey - we hold regular assessment centre simulations - group exercises, role play or e-trays to enable students to gain an understanding of core elements of an assessment centre.
As processes continue to adapt and change, we're keen to work with employers who are able to deliver a bespoke session to our students, aiding their career journey and perhaps talent spotting for your organisation.
Slots are available on Tuesday afternoons from 14:00-15:00 from November to February each academic year.
Business games and competitions help our students build skills including negotiation, self-awareness and much more
Details coming soon.
In autumn 2021, slots will be available across our Focused Festivals allowing employers an even greater opportunity to engage with our students aligned to particular sectors and/or themes.
