Fairs, Networking Nights & Speed Meets

Our portfolio of attraction activity, held throughout the academic year, remains the best way to raise your organisation's brand and ensure students discover your opportunities.

Meet King's diverse student and alumni population wherever you may be around the world. We're working on plans for a combination of physical and virtual events from summer 2022, bringing activity back to our campuses and retaining the best of virtual provision where relevant.

We offer three distinctive formats:

Careers FairNetworking NightSpeed Meet
Physical & Virtual Physical  Virtual
Our flagship, sector-specific events hosted on key dates throughout the year. Boutique evening events enabling students to explore opportunities related to sectors or themes. Smaller activities to enhance understanding of specific work-based learning opportunities.

Many of our events retain a thematic or sector focus with a wider series of activities across the broader week providing opportunities for your brand to build over an extended period with a diverse range of students and recent alumni.

We hold events on our London campuses and virtually, often collaborating with other prestigious universities to maximise the impact of your engagement.

Further Details

We're committed to bringing employers a range of physical and virtual opportunities to engage this academic year.

We hope to bring larger events back into a physical format, though we're making further adaptations to simplify our offer, help you reach an even greater audience, and broaden our sector or thematic focuses.

Outside of these events, you'll be able to build your brand through promoting your own planned activity with us, or engaging at King's through physical or virtual presentations, masterclasses, skills workshops, inclusion events, business treks, nano projects and bespoke activity.

We realise many employers continue to make difficult decisions about their engagement during 2022-23 and that many may still lack the resources or need to undertake the breadth of physical activity as you may have previously done. Equally, the success of virtual during the initial phases of the COVID pandemic, means many employers will be looking to maximise the benefits of hosting your own activity or maintaining national presence as opposed to solely focusing on individual university profile-raising activities.

We also hope we're being true to our strategy of continuously innovating our provision, providing bespoke opportunities for you to engage at King's and remain confident our offer represents the start of a journey towards a new form of engagement for partners to connect with us.

We're committed to using the right technology and solution for each of our events and have carefully selected platforms to facilitate the best engagement with our students.

  • We're hosting all virtual 'King's-specific' events through GTI's TARGETconnect platform, integrating your existing organisation profile, opportunities and operator profiles for a more seamless user experience.
  • Where we're collaborating with other institutions, our choice of platform may differ to ensure the best experience for all parties.

A breakdown of what's included in your booking, depending on the package and fair you attend is below.

  • Our fairs, networking nights and speed meets comprise a range of options for employers and students to interact. This year, we will be offering a combination of physical and virtual activities, with our main fair in the autumn semester offering hybrid options for employers.

    Virtual Events

Employer can utilise whichever video platform you are most comfortable with - MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or anything else and you will be required to provide these links to us via the system. All attendees will also be provided with:
  • a virtual stand and careers booth
  • unlimited options to schedule one-to-one discussions (exc. Life & Health Sciences Event)
  • the ability to host group presentations or webinars across the duration of the event
  • linking to your existing opportunities published on King’s CareerConnect
  • links to your social media and wider online presence

    Hybrid

For our main King’s Careers Fair this autumn, we’re hosting a physical fair on the Friday, with options for employers to engage throughout the proceeding week.

You can choose to attend the physical event (and have a static virtual stand), attend just the virtual event and interact across the week or both – interacting virtually and then following up with candidates at the physical event.

All attendees will also be provided with:

  • a virtual stand and careers booth
  • unlimited options to schedule one-to-one discussions across the week
  • the ability to host group presentations or webinars across the duration of the event
  • linking to your existing opportunities published on King’s CareerConnect
  • links to your social media and wider online presence
  • a physical stand at the Friday event (if you opt to attend this)

Your virtual stand will also act as a brochure for students visiting the physical fair so please do provide as much information and links as possible for them to prepare meeting you in person.

    Physical

For our Networking Nights, Law & Justice Fair, Part-time Work Fair and the physical element of our King’s Careers Fair, you will be provided with:
  • A table space and two chairs
  • Lunch vouchers (x3) for your delegates to choose their own lunch in our café upstairs
  • wi-fi access

Please bring small banners and limit the give-a-ways to sustainable products, perhaps using QR codes rather than printing brochures.

  • We remain confident that our plans provide a unique experience to engage directly with a distinctive talent pool which will be of value to your organisation.

However we know that many organisations face continuous financial and resourcing constraints. So we've frozen our pricing at the same levels we've had since 2020, with our physical fairs and networking nights mirroring the pricing levied for their virtual equivalents during this period.

Full package and pricing information is available in the individual event listings above.

You can also explore sponsorship options to expand on your engagement with us.

We expect this year's events to be attended by students and recent alumni across the King's community. This means you'll meet diverse students from all our faculties, levels of study, career aspirations and stages of their career journey.

On each of our event listings you will find a fact file outlining the attendance figures and breakdown from the most relevant event which proceeded it. We've also broken down the attendance by different demographics and students' stage in their career journey which is drawn from our annual careers registration survey all students complete.

It's important that employers understand our fairs, networking nights & speed meets welcome students at different stages in their journey and to help you understand this we've produced a downloadable guide.

Student Career Journey - Briefing for Employers (pdf)

Our fairs, networking nights and speed meets are exclusively open to current King's students and recent alumni (alongside those of other collaborating universities where specified).

If you are listing your attendance on your website, or through any other channel, please make this clear, as we will not be able to admit anyone who does not meet these criteria

We reserve the right to ensure the right mix of employers at each of our events based upon our student demographic and data around their aspirations, so please be aware that your booking is only confirmed when you receive a formal notification from us.

If you have not received confirmation within five working days of submitting the booking request form, please get in touch.
