Focused Festivals (Virtual Fairs)

We've reconceptualised the careers fair - engage at King's through our innovative virtual festivals and focused online events throughout the academic year.

Our portfolio remains a great way to build your organisation's brand, reach and meet King's diverse student and alumni population - wherever they may be, all scheduled around you.

In autumn, you'll be able to curate your own virtual stand across the duration of the Festival and determine how and when you want to speak directly to our students through scheduled video 'interview' slots or interactive chat functions, with more time-specific events planned for spring. You can invite your colleagues to support your endeavours and choose to boost your presence through our master classes, breakfasts and associated activity.

King's fairs are always hugely well attended, efficiently run and a great opportunity to meet talented students at all stages of their career thinking, identify future talent and raise our profile on campus at one of the world's leading universities.

Our focused festivals and fairs are running virtually in line with the decision to offer a blended combination of on-campus teaching with online delivery throughout our first two semesters. With external visitors prohibited from King's campuses until early 2021, these will continue throughout the full academic year.

Our spring term events open for booking from Monday 2 November 2020.

We realise many employers have to make difficult decisions about their engagement during 2020-21, and that many will lack the resources to undertake the breadth of physical activity as you may have previously done.

It's also the case that a number of our students will commence their studies at King's in a staggered fashion, necessitating us to maintain presence throughout the academic year in a way we may not have done previously, and that some students will be located around the world, meaning a physical event within a specific time frame doesn't always work.

We also hope we're being true to our strategy of continuously innovating our provision, providing bespoke opportunities for you to engage at King's and remain confident our offer represents the start of a journey towards a new form of engagement for partners to connect with us.

We're committed to using the right technology and solution for each of our events, and have carefully selected platforms to facilitate the best engagement with our students.

For many of our larger autumn Focused Festivals, we're partnering with Graduateland and their dedicated virtual careers fair platform, whilst for others we're integrating the Festival into the heart of our virtual learning environment where students will be undertaking their academic learning or into our main careers service system.

    A breakdown of what's included in your booking, depending on the package and Festival you attend is below.

  • Our focused festivals and events comprise a range of options for employers and students to interact - whilst we know we can't directly replicate the networking a physical event can bring, our hope is these events nonetheless represent a flexible and cost-effective way of engaging, trialing a different approach and talent-spotting from across the King's community.

    All attendees will be provided with options to host a virtual booth, including a bespoke pitch to our students drawing on existing content you may have which will be available throughout the duration of the Festival. For autumn term, you can then choose to schedule specific drop-ins at any point across the Festival to directly meet our students and recent alumni using a combination of integrated video, chat and audio technology through our dedicated provider, you own platform or utilising our Microsoft Teams platform, all built around your schedule.

    Alongside this, you'll have the option to register for additional free Employer Masterclass activity such as skills workshops, guest speaker events, case studies, mock assessment centres or mock interviews which are held as part of our Festivals and utilise our existing profile-raising packages to heighten your brand and attendance such as targeted emails, social media packages or digital banners built into the platform (at an additional cost).

    We've kept our pricing as competitive as possible, acknowledging the financial constraints we know many employers are facing. However, we remain confident that our plans provide a unique experience to engage directly with a distinctive talent pool which will be of value to your organisation.

    Where we are utilising external support to deliver interactions, we have opted to pass on the direct cost of this provision, with a minimal administration fee, covering support from our team before and during the event.

    For most of our events we continue to offer both standard and premium packages allowing you to opt to further raise your brand if you wish to, together with exclusive sponsorship opportunities. Full package and pricing information is available in the individual event listings above.

    As with our physical careers fairs, we expect this year's events to be attended by students and recent alumni across the King's community. This means you'll meet diverse students from all our faculties, levels of study, career aspirations and stages of their career journey.

    On each of our event listings you will find a fact file outlining the attendance figures and breakdown from the most relevant event which proceeded it. For 2020, we've also broken down the attendance by students' stage in their career journey which is drawn from our annual careers registration survey all students complete.

    It's important that employers understand our focussed festivals and events welcome students at different stages in their journey and to help you understand this we've produced a downloadable guide.

    We're closely following government advice on safe distancing, which makes physical activity difficult for the foreseeable future and King's has prohibited visitor access to our campuses until February 2021. However we very much hope that we will be able to offer employers a range of physical interactions including promotions, employer presentations and physical workshops as soon as it is safe to do so.

    In the meantime, you are welcome to advertise your own physical events from August 2020 with us, assuming all practical social distancing and COVID-19 safe measures are in place.

    Our fairs and festivals are exclusively open to current King's students and recent alumni.

    If you are listing your attendance on your website, or through any other channel, please make this clear, as we will not be able to admit anyone not currently studying at King's or graduated in the past two years.

    We reserve the right to ensure the right mix of employers at each of our events based upon our student demographic and data around their aspirations, so please be aware that your booking is only confirmed when you receive a formal notification from us.
