26 October 2010 Computer modeling patient with hypoplastic heart syndrome
The euHeart project is looking at patient specific modelling of heart disease.  Work Package 7 covers patient specific modelling of heart failure, particularly in the systemic right ventricle.  In the normal heart, the left ventricle is designed to pump blood at high pressure around the body. This video shows how computer modeling was used to help treat a boy with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

11 January 2010 World's first heart operation using MRI
A six-year-old boy has successfully had a valve in his heart widened using an MRI scan, using a technique developed by Professor Reza Razavi, Professor of Imaging Science.
