NOVEMBER 01, 2007

It is unusual to find tasks that people with schizophrenia perform better than healthy volunteers.  In a novel, philosophical approach to experimental psychopathology clinical researchers at the Institute of Psyc hiatry at King's have shown that people with schizophrenia, under specific circumstances, may be more logical than healthy controls.  This intriguing possibility may open up new insights into one of the most disabling yet baffling conditions in psychiatry.

Owen et al's paper 'Are people with Schizophrenia more logical than health volunteers' appears in the November edition of the British Journal of Psychiatry. Please refer to the journal for a full copy of the paper.
