King's College London & IGRS win AHRC award for PhD skills programme in Modern Languages and Film
The Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies has been successful in obtaining a £38k award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, in the framework of their Skills Development Call. The IGRS will be working closely with colleagues at King’s College London and the University of London Institute in Paris on offering a programme on Modern Languages and Film, targeting postgraduate research students working on Film Studies in Schools of Modern Languages in the UK. A spring School and day conference in 2013 in Senate House will be complemented by grants and bursaries enabling staff and students to attend events we shall co-organise at film archives and libraries in Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid or Rome, as well as the 2013 MAGIS International Film Studies Spring School in Gorizia, Italy.
